One fund manager Stewart worked with was so talented that Stewart pushed him to set up a separate venture capitalist trust to promote his abilities. The manager was ultimately successful in his fundraising efforts. When Stewart needs advice or is mulling over a new action plan, he combines his rational thinking and his gut.

A Brief Background on Your Previous Jobs

Steward set up multiple Income and Growth Venture Capital Trusts. These PLCs had him on their boards, where his grounded perspective and savvy business sense helped drive measurable outcomes. These trusts invested for various reasons, some in renewable energy assets and others in AIM-listed companies with high growth potential. Stewart's ability to raise substantial investment funds through his financial distribution channels benefited all of these investment Trusts, especially in their pursuit of renewable energy assets.

Stewart Owen Ford has also founded several companies under his name, such as the New Media Marketing and Design Agency Zig-Zag Communications. Soon enough, it had become Scotland's largest and most successful company. Zig-Zag would put out magazines, create designs for brochures, and even film and edit commercials for the Scottish Television Group.

In part, Stewart's success as an entrepreneur can be attributed to his ability to anticipate and adapt to new developments. For instance, in 1991, he established his facilities in the UK after witnessing the success of commercial digital photographic studios in the US. In the 1990s, Stewart assisted many businesses in making the change to the digital age by specializing in interactive CD-ROMs, digital corporate presentations, and data storage/warehousing.

Upon achieving prominence in his field, Stewart branched out. He founded Keydata UK LTD, which eventually became the largest distributor of financial products and information, serving 30,000 financial investment professionals. Stewart has always had a keen interest in this field because of how quickly it is evolving in response to changes in consumer preferences. He has seen the shifts in how and where people put their money, and he understands their motivations. By collaborating with others, financial advisors gain the knowledge necessary to invest their client's money in a way that will yield better long-term results.

Competence and Work History in the Field

Stewart is a multifaceted businessman who has worked in advertising, publishing, green energy, and life settlements. He was constantly assessing the successes and failures of the groups he participated in. With his guidance, companies losing money could turn a profit, often by the millions. While at Keydata, he bought a struggling regulated company called Fedsure, rebranded it, and turned it into a multibillion-pound investment powerhouse. Approximately 5 billion British pounds in investment funds were raised thanks primarily to Stewart's efforts to set up the necessary infrastructure and recruit capable management teams to drive his initiatives.

Stewart works to establish order and efficiency across the board, from marketing and sales to client services and financial administration, before stepping back to let the team get to work. He has a knack for pairing people with complementary strengths, resulting in less conflict and more output. As his career progressed, this ability brought in some of the highest returns. Stewart believes a leader should be someone other than someone who tries to shoulder the load for everyone. The idea is to create the overall "shape" of the company and then fill in the details with competent individuals.

Participation in Philanthropic Activities

After his daughter was born with Ring Chromosome 20, Stewart Owen Ford established the Ring Chromosome 20 Charitable Trust in 2002. Stewart also started a medical practice in New York in 2006 to aid people with frequent seizures. This group promotes awareness and education about this condition through funding research and publishing related materials.

The Foundation is making every effort to get people (patients, their loved ones, and medical professionals) talking about their feelings and the outcomes they've seen from treatment. The greater the public's awareness, the more likely it is that significant advances will be made in understanding how to treat best those who suffer from the condition.

Stewart is also very involved in "Jeeps for Peace," a program that sends off-road vehicles to the Ukrainian government. They are dispatched to the front lines to safely transport injured service members or displaced civilians. As of this writing, Jeeps for Peace backers have dispatched 36 vehicles. To supply at least 100 Jeeps is one of his main objectives.

Mentoring

Stewart mainly sought advice from publishing, renewable energy, and finance CEOs.

As a guide, he builds rapport with his charges and strengthens those bonds over time. Technology has been at the centre of the lightning-fast pace at which the business world operates. To better anticipate what's around the corner, those Stewart mentors need to be able to pause and understand what's happening right now.

Accomplishments

Stewart Owen Ford has extensive training and experience in structured investments, financial technology, venture capital, renewable energy, print and digital publishing, photography, and marketing. In 2007, he realized that he could retire from running the day-to-day operations of his company without jeopardizing his personal or financial security. He moved his family to Switzerland with a net worth of over £500 million and spent the next decade honing his skills as a mentor and benefactor.
